aka Preparation for Confirmation
FiNKS is a two year preparation for students, seventh grade and older, that helps them to understand the Christian faith, the United Church of Christ, and belonging to First United Church of Christ, Sauk City. The program year begins with school in September and runs through Pentecost in the spring. Many thanks to our group leaders, also thank you to our crazy parents. Thanks to all the prayer partners who hold these kids in prayer throughout their FiNKS time.
Every month each of the small groups does a servant project, enjoys a time of fellowship, and meets with the whole group for theme presentations and fun activities. Some of the High School students help with drama, games, and music. Those confirmed are active members of the congregation, sharing their gifts with us in our mutual ministries. What joy to have them become part of our church family!
'Faith Inkubators', 'Head to the Heart' (H2H) program is a relational, parent-involved, small group ministry system that challenges churches and parents to expect more out of traditional confirmation and junior high youth ministry. The goal of H2H is not just to "get through" the junior high years, but to grow junior high small groups into senior high small groups and to equip families to be involved in faith dialogue with each other at home. H2H does this by providing engaging, brain-based teaching materials including object lessons, art, music, gameshows, skits, PowerPoint® presentations, beautilful home journals, and more, and wraps it all in a small-group system that surrounds kids with a whole lot of love and care.
We have three amazing adult leaders who are supremely dedicated to providing our confirmands with guidance and direction. Special thanks to Stacy Hasheider, Brenda Ott, and Steve Ott for all they do at First UCC. They are awesome!!!!
